Tewkesbury, the battle that gave almost fourteen years of peace was a battle that contained everything. There was a huge forced march by both armies, there were ambushes, there were commanders killed on the spot for refusing to advance and there was the supposed dragging out from sanctuary and summary execution of Lancastrian commanders after the battle. All this cannot be given justice in a reenactment, 'cos people would die, but iut is a brilliant event that supports much support spectator interest at the same time. The Tewkesbury event is billed as a medieval fayre and is free. There is not much living history but the battle is huge. If you've not been to a re-enacted medieval battle before and you want to sample one, try this.
